Stephen Curry Breaks Yet Another NBA Record

On Saturday night, the Golden State Warriors took on the Oklahoma City Thunder in a battle of two of the best teams in the Western Conference. A game of this magnitude surely lived up to all expectations. Oh, and let’s just say Stephen Curry stole the show. After leaving the game Saturday night, Curry entered the NBA record books twice. He broke the NBA record for most three pointers in a season, in addition to tying the mark for most the 3 pointers in a single game, with 12.

The record for most three pointers in a single season was set last year, by no other than Curry himself with 286. Curry, now has 288 and is closing in on an historic 300 three pointers. After the game he said,  “I never would have thought at this point in the season I would be closing in on 300 and all that kind of stuff, I’ve always tried to push the envelope and keep getting better, but a lot has to go right to get to this point.”

Curry made 12 of his 16 3-point attempts against the Thunder, tying the mark for most 3s in a game; a record held by Kobe Bryant and Donyell Marshall.

Warriors nation did have a little scare during the game, as Curry rolled his ankle in the third quarter and had to head to the locker room. Luckily, Curry would only miss a few minutes to get his ankle taped. Once he re-entered  the game, he put on a show for fans around the world. He scored 31 of his 46 points in just 18 minutes of action. Curry’s spectacular performance had many NBA players buzzing on social media. His most important 3 pointer of the night came in overtime with the score tied at 118. He launched a 32 foot shot with 0.6 seconds left time to give the Warriors the win.

This was a historic night for Curry, as he helped lead the Warriors to a come-from-behind victory, while etching his name in the NBA history books. With 22 games remaining in the regular season, who knows what else Curry has up his sleeve.
